In accordance with A.R.S. §9-499.15, notice is hereby given that the City of Tombstone may consider modifying fees, rates, or charges. The Mayor and City Council will hold a series of public work sessions starting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, and a public hearing on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, at Schieffelin Hall located at the corner of Fremont and Fourth Street, to discuss the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget and property tax levy.
In fiscal year 2023-24, revenue from the Primary Tax Levy is estimated to fund 4.3% of all General Fund expenditures, including General Administration, Public Safety, Tourism Promotion and Marketing, and other governmental activities.
Amounts collected from the Secondary Property Tax Levy will be used exclusively to pay down the City’s long-term indebtedness.
User fees and charges are estimated to fund Water, Wastewater, and Sanitation services. Rate modifications for these services may be discussed as part of the budgetary process, but separate and independent approval from the Mayor and City Council is required to implement any changes.
Copies of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Tentative Budget will be available at City Hall, located at 613 E. Allen Street, Tombstone, AZ 85638, after June 24th, 2023.
