Dispatch Moves to Seacom Part 1

City of Tombstone Announces Transition of 911 Dispatch Services to SEACOM

Tombstone, AZ 06/06/2025 — The City of Tombstone is announcing an important update regarding emergency response services. Beginning July 1, 2025, all 911 calls and the dispatching of police, fire, and emergency medical services will be managed by SEACOM, replacing the current system operated by Tombstone Marshal’s Office (TMO).

Currently, Tombstone contracts with SEACOM on a part time basis. The transition to full time services allows for TMO and the Tombstone Fire Department to focus on other duties serving the community.

This transition is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to improving emergency response, increasing efficiency, and ensuring public safety through advanced technology and regional partnerships.

“Residents will not experience any changes in how they request emergency assistance,” said Mayor Escapule “Dialing 911 remains exactly the same. What changes is who’s answering on the back end as the calls will no longer come directly through TMO off their non-emergency number— and SEACOM brings a wealth of experience, upgraded infrastructure and technologies, and real-time resource coordination that will improve outcomes for all. We ask all Tombstone residents to keep the number 520-803-3550 handy as the new non-emergency number to reach law enforcement and fire personnel.”

SEACOM is a regional public safety communication center serving multiple jurisdictions. With this transition, Tombstone will join a network that provides:

· 24/7/365 centralized dispatch

· Upgraded call-routing technology

· Faster response times and resource deployment

· Cost-effective operations

This change will be seamless for residents. Calls to 911 will still be answered promptly, and first responders will continue to be dispatched quickly and efficiently. Community members with questions can email [email protected]. Do not report emergencies on this email.

The City thanks Tombstone Marshal’s Office for their years of dedicated service and support and looks forward to a new chapter in public safety excellence with SEACOM.
