FAQ SHEET: Transition from Tombstone Marshal’s Office to SEACOM Dispatch Services
- Why is dispatch transitioning from the Tombstone Marshal’s Office to SEACOM?
The transition ensures more robust, 24/7 professional dispatch coverage, faster response times, and access to better technology and trained dispatch staff in emergency response protocols.
- What is SEACOM?
SEACOM is a regional dispatch center providing emergency communications services for multiple public safety agencies. (17 fire, 1 EMS and 9 law enforcement agencies) They specialize in centralized 911 call-taking and dispatch services.
- When will the transition happen?
The transition is scheduled to be fully implemented by July 1, 2025.
- Will there be any disruption in services?
No service interruptions are expected. Both TMO and SEACOM are coordinating closely to ensure a seamless transition.
- Who will handle 911 calls for Tombstone after the transition?
All 911 calls are routed directly to SEACOM currently. The non-emergency calls to TMO will be routed to SEACOM, where they will dispatch the appropriate law enforcement, fire, or EMS units based on the call.
- How will this affect the community?

- Will the Marshal’s Office still be involved?
Yes. While SEACOM will handle all dispatching, the Tombstone Marshal’s Office will continue to respond to incidents and maintain law enforcement services.
- How are officers being prepared for the change?
It is important to note TMO Deputies are extremely familiar with SEACOM and their dispatching protocols as they have been using SEACOM part time, for several years. No disruption of services will occur.
- How can I report non-emergency issues?
Non-emergency calls should be directed to 520-803-3550. SEACOM staff are trained to triage and route these calls effectively.
